With the nationwide influenza vaccine shortage, we are having some difficulty sourcing the stocks we require of influenza vaccines. Government funded vaccines are back in stock however we are still unable to source any private supply.
We currently have junior influenza vaccines (for children aged 6 month to <3 years) and further government funded 3 years to <65 years influenza vaccine.
For the first time, the Victorian government is funding influenza vaccines for all children aged from 6 months to <5 years- these children will require 2 doses if this is the first time they have received the influenza vaccine at least 1 month apart. If you are pregnant, or have been diagnosed with a chronic illness (including diabetes, asthma, heart disease, COPD, or any respiratory illness), you are also entitled to a government funded influenza vaccine.
We still have an adequate supply of the government funded 65+ influenza vaccine, if you over 65 years of age and are yet to have your influenza vaccine, we recommend you have it sooner rather than later as once this stock runs out, we will be unable to get more.
Unfortunately we have not been able to source further private influenza vaccines and are unable to use government funded vaccines for the private market. We understand this is frustrating and will continue to make enquiries with our suppliers.
